Why YOGA? / Why pilates?

Yoga is a powerful way to improve both your physical and mental health. It enhances flexibility, strength, and posture while reducing stress and promoting relaxation. Regular practice can improve breathing, boost energy levels, and support better sleep. Yoga also helps balance your mind and body, making it easier to manage anxiety and improve overall well-being.

Yoga is suitable for everyone—whether you're a beginner or experienced, young or old, fit or just starting your wellness journey. It can be adapted to all fitness levels and needs, making it an inclusive and accessible practice for anyone looking to improve their quality of life.

Why Pilates?
Pilates is all about building core strength, improving posture, and increasing flexibility through controlled movements. Unlike yoga, which focuses more on flexibility and mindfulness, Pilates targets deep muscles, especially in the abdomen and lower back, to tone and strengthen the body. It’s perfect for improving body alignment and reducing the risk of injury, whether you’re a beginner or more experienced. Combining Pilates with yoga gives you the best of both worlds: the relaxation and mental clarity of yoga, plus the strength and stability of Pilates. A balanced, full-body workout for both body and mind!

Yoga & Pilates Experiences

Did you know that practicing yoga can increase the production of serotonin, also known as the "happiness hormone"? Even practicing yoga just 1-2 times per week can leave you feeling more relaxed, energized, and balanced. Over time, it helps improve flexibility, strength, and mental clarity while reducing stress and enhancing your overall sense of joy.

In addition to yoga, Pilates is an excellent way to improve your body awareness and strength. Pilates focuses on core stability, posture, and controlled movements, helping you develop long, lean muscles and improve flexibility. It promotes better alignment, strengthens deep muscles, and improves overall body strength, which helps prevent injuries and supports better posture. Whether you're looking to enhance your athletic performance, recover from an injury, or simply feel more toned and energized, Pilates offers a great way to strengthen both the body and the mind.

Whether indoors in a cozy, serene space or outdoors in nature, our classes provide the perfect environment to nurture both body and mind. Join us to experience how yoga and Pilates can transform your health and happiness!

  • What should I bring to a class?
For indoor classes, you don’t need to bring much! I provide yoga mats, blankets, eye masks, and bolsters, so you can enjoy your practice comfortably. However, if you prefer to use your own equipment, you’re more than welcome to bring it along. For outdoor classes, I do ask that you bring your own yoga mat, as we’ll be practicing in nature, and I won’t always have enough mats available. Additionally, dress appropriately for the weather to ensure you’re comfortable during the session. It’s also a good idea to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated and wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. With these simple preparations, you’ll have everything you need to fully enjoy your yoga or meditation session!

I offer a variety of classes designed to suit different needs and preferences. These include: Hatha Yoga: Focused on balancing the body and mind through postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama). Yin Yoga: A relaxing, slow-paced practice with long-held postures to release tension and improve flexibility. Pilates combined with Yoga: A fusion of yoga's mindfulness and Pilates' core-strengthening techniques, offering a balanced and restorative experience. Each class lasts 1 hour and is carefully designed to provide a holistic experience, helping you strengthen your body, relax your mind, and connect with yourself. Private sessions and workshops are also available if you’re looking for something tailored to your specific needs!
  • How many spots are available, and what kind of space is it?
Currently, there are 4 spots available for yoga sessions, as classes are held in a small, cozy indoor space while the new larger yoga studio is being built in a renovated tobacco barn. The indoor space is designed to create a relaxing yoga atmosphere with candles, plants, soft music, and dimmed lighting. When the weather is good and the ground is dry, yoga sessions will be held outdoors. In the outdoor setting, up to 15 spots are available, allowing for a more spacious experience. If you prefer an outdoor session, feel free to inquire in advance to confirm availability and location.
